Dave Rosene
Certified Arborist & General Manager
A graduate of Kent State University, Dave has worked in numerous capacities in the green industry for more than 25 years. His experience includes work with plant materials at the Holden Aboretum in Ohio and five years as Grounds Manager at the Woodberry Forest School of Virginia. In addition to providing our client estimates and consultations, Davis is asked to consult on arboricultural issues throughout Central Virginia. He is our day-to-day operations manager and oversees the production staff at VYTC.
Sam Miller
Certified Arborist & Production Supervisor
Sam is an Albemarle County native and has worked in the tree care industry in Central Virginia for several years. Sam oversees all aspects of scheduling work and VYTC crews. He is also the company expert on lightning protection systems on homes and in trees.
Paul Lanctot
Certified Arborist & Crew Leader
Paul has worked with Van Yahres Tree Company since 1998. He brings a love for trees and the outdoors to his work and has developed pruning skills that are second-to-none.
Bob Mason
Certified Arborist & Crew Leader
Bob has worked with the company for more than 15 years and is not only a certified arborist, but also a licensed pesticide applicator who oversees our pest management practices. Bob is an expert at diagnosing problems and proposing solutions that can efficiently resolve pest or disease problems.
Jeremy Thompson
Certified Arborist & Crew Leader
Jeremy learned tree work at Van Yahres Tree Company after joining our team in 2002. After training with some of our most experienced arborists, Jeremy quickly worked to receive his certification from the ISA and now is among our most efficient and skilled crew leaders.
Greg Groff
Arborist & Crew Leader
Greg has worked in the area and in tree care for more than 10 years. Greg knows trees and the business. He combines these qualities with a solid work ethic – and helps keep our shop running smoothly and efficiently.
Kenny Bright
Arborist
Kenny joined our crew in 2007 after having worked in the area in tree care and landscape management. He's proving to be a hard worker and valuable addition to the company.
Steve Osborn
Arborist
Our newest employee, Steve comes to VYTC from Michigan, where he worked on landscape crews and in construction. Steve is another hard worker and is quickly learning and honing his tree care skills. He is a strong member of our team.
